1870 1/2d Hand drawn essay. Very fine composite essay by Perkins Bacon using Colonial Chalon head with a hand drawn frame on white wove paper (46 x 46mm) numbered 7 and endorsed at base Messrs Perkins and Co. Extremely rare nineteen designs were originally produced six of which are in the Royal philatelic collection of the remainder only three or four appear to have survived.
