KEVII 4d Colour TRIAL in yellow-orange from the monocoloured plate Cat from 9000

1909-10 4d Colour trial. Fine unused o.g. example printed by DLR in yellow-orange on white crown watermarked paper from the monocoloured plate. The 1910 colour trials printed from the Monocolour plates can be differentiated from the 1909 trials from the bicolour plates by the value circles which are larger measuring about 6mm in diameter on the monocolour plate compared with about 5 1/2mm on the bicolour. Insignificant tone spot in crown hardly detracting from this rare and desirable item. Cat from 9000 pounds (see page 44 of the Spec catalogue). The example in the Aurelius Sale in May 2009 sold for 5738 pounds
