1847 (December 16th) receipt numbered 217 from the Charing Cross Office for a registered letter to Sydney. Two strikes of the red Maltese Cross type framed PAID/C+ datestamp one being for the wrong date and cancelled by the Post Offices Bag seal in the same red ink the only recorded example of any Bag seal on a Registered Letter receipt.
