The EARLIEST KNOW SHEET OF STAMPS IN THE WORLD

This is the only complete sheet of 1841 Penny Reds in existence in or outside of a Museum and there are no sheets of Penny Blacks or 1840/41 2d Blues. Unbelievably is comes from “Black” plate 10. This is a very early printing. The red printings initially were between 30^th December 1840 and 21^st January 1841.

The plate was repaired on 22 stamps within these 3 weeks. On the 22^nd they reverted to printing in Black making this sheet a Pre-provisional Printing.

An absolutely STUNNING SHEEET (no gum) with fantastic ivory Heads. As basic bocks of four this is Catalogue at £750,000.
