Stamp Duty 1876 1000r rose Wmk CA cancelled by punch and 22/11/76 in manuscript (small thin at top edge). Extremely Rare. This High Value has a fascinating story. Due to De La Rues minimum order 236 sheets were delivered which was a quantity sufficient for 750 years of consumption. As a result 232 sheets were surcharged as lower values leaving just 4 sheets. A supply which lasted their full 16 years of validity.
