1686 (1 September) entire letter from Exeter to Spain via London endorsed post pd to Byon 18d and charged 2 on arrival. While the letter transmitted though London the Bishop mark was not applied to outgoing mail predating the earliest Falmouth Packet service. Fine and scarce.
