1841 (25 Oct.) cover front and large part of one flap to Kendal bearing 2d. pale blue plate 2 DA (close to large margins all round) cancelled by a central strike of black Maltese Cross Norwich type 1 the cover marked Registered Letter and manuscript 1/- and showing the Norwich despatch c.d.s. on the flap. A dramatic cover especially with this distinctive Maltese Cross and the earliest registered cover bearing the 2d. blue plate 2.
