1844 Cover from Walls (Shetland Islands) via Lerwick (Backstamp 4th January 1844) to Pinkie Burn Musselburgh via Edinburgh (back stamp 14th January 1844). The Penny Red was cancelled in manuscript probably in Walls as they had not been issued with a Postmark. The entire is addressed to The Reverend John Watson who was not only the pastor at Musselburgh but the Founder and for 33 years the honored secretary of the Congregational Union of Scotland. He passed away 7 months later at the age of 67.
