Flown in 32 Squadron Whirlwind Mk 12 from RAF Hendon Smiths Lawn Windsor to RAF Hendon .Reflown in Duck End Farm Parachute Group Cessna from St Neots to RAF Hendon and delivered by Parachutists at the opening ceremony performed by Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader. Personally Signed by Frances J Field. Special Signed Parachutist J R .Nicholls & Francis J Field Served in Royal Warwickshire Regiment during World War . During the War he suffered minor injuries and gassing in France before being more seriously wounded in 1916. He was discharged 2 years later. He became the living encyclopaedia Britannia of Aero philately.
