George III 1789 Cover sent from Welshpool to London. Manuscript 6d to pay for a distance above 150 miles. Welchpool became a Post Town in 1750 and the name was spelt with a c up to 1825. On the reverse is the London arrival date stamp for the 30 April 1789. A new design stamp was introduced in 1787 to replace the Bishop Mark.
