He joined the RAF in 1921 and flew in Vickers Vimy Vickers Virginia and became a 43 Sqn Sopwith Snipe Fighter Pilot. In 1935 be joined BAC. On 4th Sep 1949 he flew the maiden flight of the Bristol Brabazon the Worlds largest airliner and on 16 Sep 1952 flew the maiden flight of the Bristol Britannia. Personally Signed by Sir Archibald Russell Chief Designer for British Aeroplane Company. Flown in A & AEE Britannia Team spirit from Boscombe Down to Filton ( Bristol ) to Boscombe Down overflying Brize Norton and RAF Lyneham for a 25th Anniversary of Britannia original Crew who made the maiden flight in 1958.
